Who can apply for the 2024 Emerging Global Leader Scholarship?

To be eligible for the Emerging Global Leader Scholarship, you must:

  • Be graduating from high school in 2024.
  • Be eligible for financial aid.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at your current school(s). This will be verified by the Financial Aid Office. You can also check with your high school counselor or principal if you have any questions about how this information will be used by U-Chicago’s Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (FAF).

Eligibility

  • You must be a US citizen, permanent resident or visa holder.
  • You must be a high school senior or college freshman or sophomore at the time of application (though you can apply for the scholarship after your junior year).
  • You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4 point scale (1-4). If you do not meet this requirement, there are other options available to help increase your chance of receiving this scholarship such as taking extra classes at AU and having an overall higher grade point average (GPA) than others in your class but still meeting our eligibility criteria above (e.g., if someone has an A+ in their class but has only completed 2 semesters worth of courses thus far; they may still qualify for an award).
  • The SAT score required varies depending upon which type(s) from among these categories applies: Math + Writing test scores between 500 – 600 points outta 800 total points received across both sections together combined with an ACT composite score comprising 1120 – 1320 outta 2400 total points received across both sections together combined with any combination thereof totaling up to 1800 points outta 2400 total points received across both sections together combined

Types of funding

The types of funding available to you will depend on your academic program. For example, if you are in the School of Business and Economics, all scholarships are awarded through the Office of Undergraduate Studies (OUS). However, if you are enrolled in a doctorate program, fellowship funding may come from other sources such as the School of Engineering or Graduate School.

Scholarships

  • College-wide and departmental awards: These awards usually come with full tuition waiver and stipend. They also cover additional costs such as books and supplies.
  • Departmental awards: These awards typically cover tuition only; however they may have other benefits like housing or travel reimbursement included along with some living stipends for students living off campus or commuting from home every day during school breaks.* Research assistantships: These positions require candidates to work on specific projects within their field of study over a period ranging from one semester up until one year depending on how long someone needs time away from school due to health reasons like pregnancy etcetera so it’s important not only apply early but also make sure everything goes smoothly if chosen!

Why you should study in the USA

If you’re thinking of studying abroad in the USA, there are many reasons why it should be your first choice. First and foremost, this country has a reputation for being one of the safest places to live. The US government does not allow its citizens or residents to carry weapons on public transportation or in public buildings. In addition, federal law prohibits certain types of guns from being carried by non-residents; most notably those made out of metal (such as knives), which could be used as weapons against police officers during an emergency situation.

There aren’t any visa requirements or language barriers; just apply online via any reputable university website like AU’s [website], then fill out some paperwork once they’ve accepted your application—that’s all there really needs too!
