Google Research Scholar Program Application 2023 With $60,000 Funds Granted

The Google Research Scholar Program sole aim is to support early-career professors that are pursuing research in fields that is very much relevant to Google.

This Google Research Scholar Program also provides an unrestricted gifts to support research at institutions around the entire world, and will be focusing on funding world-class research that will be conducted by early-career professors.

Professors globally, who teaches in universities across the globe are encouraged to submit their applications as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.

It is in the future hope that Google Research Scholar Program will help develop collaborations with new professors and encourage the formation of long-term relationships among them.

Awards up to 60000 dollars are fully disbursed as unrestricted gifts to the university and are not intended for overhead or indirect costs.

The intentions are for use during the academic year. The award is provided to support the professor’s research efforts.

Also before applicants can access this program fully, All Proposals submitted will now be fully selected through an internal review process.

Applicants will be notified of their proposal status within six months of the initial submission. The google research scholar program also has asked the applicants to categorize their proposals into one of the following areas of interest to Google in either the Computer Science and also other related fields, which is listed below.

  • Algorithms and optimization                                         ♦Natural language processing
  • Applied science                                                               ♦Networking
  • Geo/maps                                                                       ♦Privacy
  • Health research                                                               ♦Quantum computing
  • Human-computer interaction                                         ♦Security
  • Machine learning and data mining                                 ♦Software engineering and programming languages.
  • Machine perception                                                        ♦Systems (hardware and software).
  • Mobile
  • Structured data, extraction, semantic graph, and database management.

How To Qualify: The Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must have received their PhD within seven years of submission (e.g. applicant in 2022 must have received PhD in 2015 or later). We consider exceptions for applicants who have been teaching seven years or fewer and had delays, such as working in industry, parental leave, leave of absence, etc. This exception request can be documented on the application.
  2. Applicants must be a full-time assistant, associate, or professor at a university or degree-granting research institution at the time of the application submission. Post doctoral staff can only serve as a co-PI, not a primary PI.
  3. Applicants can submit one application per round. Faculty can only serve as a PI or Co-PI per round. Applicants cannot serve on two separate proposals.
  4. Applicants can apply a maximum of 3 times within the 7 years post-PhD.

The Funding Amounts For Google Research Scholar Program

There will actually be a fund which will be provided by this awesome program. The funds granted will be up to $60,000 USD and are intended to support the advancement of the professor’s research.

  • Get your proposal first. Write a good proposal,
  • Then proceed
  • Submit your proposal once the application window opens
  • After that, the Applicants are then notified within 4 months of submission.
